Voluntary Options Available on All Benefits Products
Just as no two families are exactly alike, Reliance Standard understands that no two businesses are the same, either. That’s why all our employee benefits coverages are available as employer paid, contributory or 100% employee paid options. That means as your business objectives change – along with your budget – you can continue to offer high quality employee benefits programs to help attract and keep valuable employees.
Plan design features vary by product and state, but generally these are the options available on our employee benefits lines of coverage:
Employer pays 100% of the cost of disability coverage. Employees may not purchase additional coverage.
Contributory or “Core/Buy-Up”
Employer and employees share the cost of coverage. Sometimes this means employers purchase a portion of eligible employees’ coverage (“core” coverage), or a flat benefit amount, regardless of whether the employee elects to purchase additional coverage or not. Sometimes the program can be designed so that the employer only pays a portion if the employee elects to participate and purchase benefits.
Each eligible employee has the option to purchase coverage at 100% of the cost. The employer does not pay for any portion of coverage.
